** This position could be located in Waterloo or Toronto. **  ** Multiple positions available **

The Solutions Engineer will be working in conjunction with Solution Architects to deliver Sandvine solutions to Customers during pre and post-sales solution stages. During the pre-sales you will be responsible for providing subject matter expertise on Sandvine products throughout the sales process in order to maximize the value of the proposed solution and ensuring the proper positioning of the involved technologies. When in post-sales you will be driving the delivery of the solution to the customers in conjunction with Solution Architects and Project Managers including internal solution design, configuration, testing, validation and onsite deployment.

Your specific responsibilities will be:

  • Guiding and assisting account teams in building solutions to address specific customer needs based on Sandvine technologies and the partnership ecosystem
  • Working with the technology/marketing experts and helping the account team in positioning the solution against the competing solutions
  • Providing specific technical solution/technology/product, subject matter expertise throughout the solution sales activities.
  • Validating technical solution designs through an in-depth understanding of customer technical requirements and network architecture
  • Working in conjunction with corporate technical teams on the design, integration, configuration, testing and deployment of Sandvine solutions.

Skills

  • BS or MS (or equivalent degree) degree in Engineering or Computer Science
  • Solid foundation in software development in either C++ or Java in designing and implementing networking related (TCP/IP) applications. At least 5 years of proven experience.
  • At least 5 years experience in Data communication industry with in depth understanding of TCP/IP stack and application protocols.
  • Deep understanding with basic network protocols such as RADIUS and DHCP.
  • Deep understanding of carrier grade network environments with multiple switching, aggregation, routing and security layers.
  • Understanding of application protocols such as Peer-to-peer, Voice over IP (VoIP), HTTP, HTTPS, WAP and SMTP.
  • Understanding of encapsulation protocols such as GRE, MPLS or GTP.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Excellent customer interaction skills
  • Technical knowledge and consultative skills, which are above reproach
  • Readiness for travel (30 – 50%)
